Have you ever considered having plastic surgery? Were you thinking about having cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery to assist with an issue or disease you struggled with? Whether you visited with plastic surgeons, spoke to an ENT doctor or just researched the different plastic surgery options online, you probably spent time weighing your decision heavily whether or not to have plastic surgery. It can be a difficult decision due to the financial cost and the time and energy allocated to healing. However, if the plastic surgery procedure will improve your life, it may be something worth going ahead and committing to.
It is not unheard of to elect for plastic surgery, whether it is cosmetic plastic surgery or needed to help aid with an issue or disease. In the past five years alone, cosmetic procedures have increased. Since 2011, the number of cosmetic procedures that have happened has increased by a total of 39 percent. Cosmetic procedures that were surgical have increased by 17 percent, while procedures that were nonsurgical increased by 44 percent.
In 2015, there was a two percent increase in procedures done than in 2014. In total, there were 15.9 million surgical and minimally-invasive procedures that took place in the United States, according to the annual plastic surgery procedural statistics. Out of these statistics, there were certain procedures that were more popular than others. For instance, breast augmentation was the top procedures with 279,143 people undergoing this cosmetic surgery. Liposuction was the next highest procedure with 222,051 cosmetic surgeries done. All-in-all, there were 1.7 million cosmetic surgeries performed in 2015 in the United States.
More often than not, surgery is required for a cosmetic procedure. Around 60 percent require surgery, while 40 percent are simply cosmetic procedures that do not require surgery. However, when the issue is something that is affecting your life, it may be worth undergoing a procedure and surgery to help relieve or fix the issue.
One issue that may be resolved by visiting and ENT doctor or an ear, now, and throat surgeon is sleep apnea. Around 18 million Americans suffer from some degree of sleep apnea. That means that for every 15 Americans, one of them is likely to struggle with sleep apnea. Although sleep apnea may go undiagnosed or may not be a large issue for everyone who has it, others can truly suffer from the disease. If it is a bad case of sleep apnea and it goes untreated, there can be side effects such as strokes. Some individuals are four times as likely to suffer a stroke if their sleep apnea is untreated. Additionally, there are three times as likely to also suffer from heart disease.
That is why it is essential to really do your research and consider whether or not you should visit an ENT doctor if you feel like you may suffer from sleep apnea. You do not want to suffer silently when you could be getting checked out by an ear, nose and throat specialist who can diagnose you and help treat your sleep apnea. Additionally, they may be able to recommend a cosmetic procedure or cosmetic surgery that can help relieve you from side effects of sleep apnea or perhaps solve the issue altogether.
While you may feel like cosmetic surgery or the assistance of an ENT doctor is unnecessary, you could be wrong resulting in many side effects that negatively affect how you can live your life. Do not put yourself at risk or in danger of suffering any further. If you feel as though you are suffering from sleep apnea, visit a doctor as soon as possible to get assessed accurately by a professional.
